Zahra Abdalla considers herself a modern-day Bedouin. The half-Iranian and half-Sudanese cookbook author, entrepreneur and social media influencer was born in London, England and lived in various cities across the world including Khartoum, Riyadh, Vancouver and London, before moving to Dubai and calling it home for the past 15 years.
Her culinary journey started with her online blog in 2010 and soon thereafter she presented he own cooking shows on MBC3, and hosted the fourth season of a food and travel documentary show called Maggi Diaries on MBC1. As part of her work on Maggi Diaries she had the opportunity to travel to Egypt, India, Spain, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, and meet amazing, inspiring and wonderful women of change who addressed important social issues including food wastage, hunger, environment, mindfulness and women’s empowerment.
Working from her studio, Zahra develops and creates modern interpretations of Middle Eastern cuisine, and delicious traditional Arabic and Iranian food. A true-blue entrepreneur at heart, Zeina ventured into business for herself after dabbling in a communications career for a short while. The idea of creating a photobooth service came about from her own personal experience, wherein she was unable to find a photobooth supplier to cater her wedding. Dr. Asawari Bapat (Asa) is the Director of Quality and Regulatory Affairs, at Infohealth FZE, based in Dubai and US. She is also the Head of Medical Licensing and Regulatory at the Middle East Medical Portal (MEMP), based in London. MEMP caters to around 44,000 healthcare professionals in the Middle East for Licensing, Regulatory and Medical writing work amongst many other services such as education, trainings and workshops.
She is a Medical Doctor with specialization in Clinical Pathology and has an extensive international training in all aspects of Stem cells, immunology, transplants and transfusions.
Asa is a pioneer in the field of stem cells and cellular therapies with an excellence in Quality, Regulatory Compliance, Accreditation's and Certifications such as AABB, AATB, Fact, ISO, JCI, CAP, US FDA, MOH, and other regional regulations.
Dr. Asa has been successfully spearheading Cellular Therapy Companies, Adult Stem Cell and Cord Blood Companies as Vice President, Medical Director and Lab Director across countries such as US, Australia, Middle East, South East Asia and India.
She has held honorary chair for laying down Cord Blood banking regulations in India associated with DCGI, ICMR India.
Asa is also on the advisory panel of parents guide to cord blood foundation a non- profit advocacy foundation.
